Based on a question posted to r/netapp on 14 October 2026. The post title supplies the team label and ₹15 LPA figure, but no offer letter, pay table or recruiter statement is publicly available. Treat both as unverified candidate-reported details.
careers compensation India 2026-10-14The short answer
You cannot tell from “₹15 LPA” alone. LPA means lakhs per annum; it describes the annualised number, not what the number contains. Unless the document explicitly labels ₹15 lakh as fixed pay, base salary or gross fixed compensation, the cautious reading is that it may be the headline cost-to-company figure. That is a reading rule, not confirmation of this NetApp offer.
The Reddit headline asks whether an internship conversion in a team the poster calls “AIDE” is ₹15 LPA base or CTC. It does not publish the compensation schedule. NetApp Black Box found no primary document that answers the question, and will not manufacture a breakdown from anonymous salary reports.
What to inspect in the written offer
Ask the recruiter or campus placement office for the annual compensation table, then put each line into one of these buckets:
- Fixed cash: basic pay plus fixed allowances paid through payroll.
- Variable cash: target bonus or incentive; confirm the target percentage, eligibility and payout timing.
- One-time cash: joining or relocation payments; check repayment clauses.
- Equity: grant value is not annual cash. Record the vesting schedule and whether the quoted value is total grant value or one year’s vest.
- Employer costs and benefits: employer provident-fund contributions, gratuity, insurance or other benefits may appear in CTC without becoming monthly take-home pay.
A usable comparison is annual fixed cash, target first-year cash, recurring target cash, equity vesting and estimated monthly take-home—not one combined LPA number.
Questions that remove the ambiguity
- “Is ₹15 lakh the annual fixed component or total CTC?”
- “What are the fixed, variable, one-time, equity and employer-contribution amounts?”
- “Is any component conditional on performance, continued employment or a repayment period?”
- “Does the conversion letter use the same role, level and location discussed during the internship?”
- “When does full-time compensation begin, and is the internship stipend separate?”
Get the response in writing. A direct-message anecdote can show what another candidate saw, but it cannot amend your own offer.
What remains unknown
The public material does not establish what “AIDE” expands to, the job level, work location, conversion criteria, fixed salary, target bonus, equity, benefits or expected take-home pay. It also does not establish that every intern converting into the same organisation receives the same package. Those gaps are material, so no estimated breakup is presented here.
A note for ONTAP readers
This is employment and compensation coverage, not a product-release claim. For the technical release material in this site’s current queue, use the separately sourced What’s new in ONTAP 9.19.1 reference; the ₹15 LPA discussion provides no evidence about ONTAP roles or release work.
